Las Vegas Social Media Event Marketing expert Demont Daniel is the latest guest on The Social Media Show. He sat down with show co-hosts Sam Dever and Asia Jade to discuss his journey from the East Coast to Las Vegas, his company Finesse Media, various projects and of course, Social media.
Daniel begins the interview by telling Dever and Jade how he first got into technology. His father was the lead sales rep at IBM so ever since an early age Demont was exposed to all kinds of technology. He used to take apart and put back computers back together again teaching him how they worked. This lead to him learning how to program, learning and working with basic languages such as DOS. Having this technology knowledge as his foundation led to a smooth transition into the Social Media world as it started to evolve.
Finesse Media was the next topic brought up at The Social Media Show roundtable. Originally co-founded by Demont and Las Vegas local Sara Gabriella. Finesse Media is a leading company for Social Media and Events according to Daniel. When coming up with a name, they wanted something to incorporate their personalities. The group was planning on getting into throwing business networking and various Social Media events so they wanted a name that was smooth and possessed business savvy. Hence, they went with the word “Finesse.”
The Finesse media logo was actually designed by Graphic Artist and Las Vegas favorite Shane Allen of Carmello Vision. When coming up with the design they decided to break it down into four parts. The red represents “fire” which co-aligns with Finesse Media’s app building service. Blue represents Social Media, like water flows all around us. Earth is represented by the tan color which also promotes the events Finesses puts on The last color white, represents the air which to Finesse goes along with education and teaching people how to use the new technologixal tools and social platforms that surround us.
Demont also went into a couple other areas he’s involved in in Las Vegas including his families company Pride Staff, which is a staffing agency helping people in the Las Vegas community find jobs. He mentions he was one of the first one million people on Linked In. Still in it’s infancy and wanting to get involved in more business networking events, Demont decided to created the Linked In group, “Linked Las Vegas.” The first event he ever put on for Linked Las Vegas was expected to have around 50 people. Over 500 ended up showing up making it a huge success. Daniel says you can type in the group name into Linked In and it will pop up number one for groups in Las Vegas. He also mentions hie involvement and passion for the Vegas Tech community which has a huge technological influence.
Daniel also shares a personal story based upon his experience working around the World Trade Center during his time on the East Coast. He says he lost over 100 friends during the tragedy. Ever since then he knew it was his job to go out and create. We’re looking forward to see what creation Demont Daniel comes up with next.
